Women Working for Quds and Palestine Forum Held in West Africa Mauritania - Nouakchott (First Day)
On Friday and Saturday, November 5-6, 2021, The Global Women’s Coalition for Quds and Palestine, in cooperation with the African Women’s Coalition for Quds and Palestine, held the Women Working for Quds and Palestine in West Africa, Mauritania – Nouakchott. The attendees included Ms. Rabab Awad, Secretary-General of the Global Women’s Coalition, Ms. Fatima Al-Maidah, Secretary-General of the African Women’s Coalition, and Ms. Maimouna Sy, Secretary-General of the West African Women's Coalition. Many “Work for Palestine” representatives from Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, and Ivory Coast participated.
The first day of the forum began with the audience welcoming and getting to know one another. It was followed by a speech by both the Secretary-General for the African Women's Coalition and the Secretary-General for the Global Women's Coalition.
A lecture, Introduction to the Palestinian Cause (liberation Strategies), was then given, which made room for discussion and dialogue on strategies for the upcoming liberation.
An introduction to the Global Women's Coalition was given by its Secretary-General, Rabab Awad, who also presented the prospects for African work (dialogue and discussion) among the representatives of the countries present.
Then, there was a workshop on the following topics: Pro-Palestinian Work in Countries, The Political Situation, Conditions, Challenges and the Reality of Palestinian Work, and The Future Prospects for Work in Each Country.
The activities of the first day concluded with a meeting between women scholars and a coalition of pro-Palestinian associations.
