First Training Forum for the Global Traveler’s Program
The Global Women's Coalition for Quds and Palestine launched the Global Traveler’s Program through the first four-day training forum for travelers on June 5, 2023, in Istanbul, Turkey. A distinguished group of 16 sisters from 10 countries attended.
The first day of the forum began with a welcoming speech by the Secretary-General of the GWCQP, Ms. Rabab Awad, and a speech by Dr. Sajida Abu Fares, Vice-President of the GWCQP. The meeting also included a speech by the Palestinian activist, Ms. Nadia Dabsha.
The forum’s activities began with a lecture by the Engineer, Munir Saeed, Secretary-General of the Global Coalition for Quds and Palestine. He spoke about the strategy for working with the Ummah.
In addition, a scenario for the Traveler’s Program was presented and explained in detail by Ms. Nahid Asida, project coordinator.
The meeting concluded with a training session by Mr. Muslim Imran, on the political and geographical reality of Southeast Asia and the mechanism of pro-Palestinian work.
On the second day of program, the GWCQP commenced its activities with a training course with Dr. Abdul Hamid bin Salem, in which he talks about the political and geographical reality in the Maghreb region and the mechanism of pro-Palestinian work.
As for the second session, Secretary-General Rabab Awad presented a strategy document for working with the women of the Ummah.
The meeting concluded by introducing the sisters to the GWCQP’s central projects. Sarah Al-Hanafi presented the Family Pledge project and talked about its goals, reasons, and how to participate in it. She stressed the need for sisters to participate in spreading the idea of the Pledge in their countries.
Additionally, Ms. Nahed Asida presented the Al-Masra Online Platform project, which specializes in Al-Quds knowledge.
The GWCQP completed the forum’s activities. The activities of the third day took place in Istanbul, Turkey, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.
The activities of the third day began with a training course, The Political and Geographical Reality in West and East Africa, given by Dr. Fathi Abdul Qader.
As for the second session, Mr. Muhammad Saeed Bah gave a training course titled The Economic and Civil Reality and the Mechanism of Action to Support the Palestinian Cause in West and East Africa.
In the third session, the sisters were introduced to the Global Coalition of Muslim Women Scholars and Preachers for Quds and Palestine by its president, Dr. Sajida Abu Fares. Dr. Sajida spoke about the coalition’s goals and projects, as well as the importance of utilizing the role of women scholars and preachers in supporting the Palestinian cause.
The meeting concluded with a workshop presented by Dr. Sajida Abu Fares, in which she talked about how travelers prepare themselves, and what supplies and items they need before and during the trip.
