"Palestine is My Compass" Conference

With the world currently being threatened by a tense global situation known as the Corona pandemic, consideration for the Palestinian cause has declined. Popular media and relief interest have diminished for the Palestinian people who are greatly affected by two pandemics in the world: The Coronavirus, and injustice under the Zionist occupation. The West Bank, on top of what it has been exposed to historically, is now facing an American-backed Israeli plan to annex it to the Zionist entity, as a direct result of the ill-fated deal of the century.

In response to all this, and for the Palestinian cause to remain the first and permanent cause in the hearts of the Ummah’s women, the Women's Global Coalition for Quds and Palestine held a conference titled “Palestine is my compass” under the slogan "so that we do not lose the compass" on June 26-27, 2020. It is an online elite conference at the Ummah's level that mobilizes women working for Al-Quds and Palestine. This includes symbols, activists, and women’s institutions working from various countries of the Ummah, its components, bodies, and institutions, in order to engage in dialogue and consultation on the concerns and developments of the cause and to restore interest toward the nation’s eternal compass.

The opening ceremony included a number of speeches that spoke about the role of women from Al-Quds in performing Ribat and defending Al-Aqsa Mosque, introducing the dangers facing Al-Aqsa Mosque to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the role of the world in supporting the Palestinian cause.

A number of sessions were held that included discussing topics related to the title of the conference. The first session discussed “Palestinian women between reality and the hope for the future.” The second session was devoted to talking about the role of art in serving the cause and confronting the normalization of Israeli relations. The third session presented the WGCQP's projects and programs that aim to serve the Palestinian cause.

During the conference, the specialized leadership qualification program to support Al-Quds and Palestine, Basma, and the global campaign, Palestine is My Compass, were launched.

On the second day of the WGCQP's online conference, Basma, a dialogue symposium was held entitled “The Zionist Plan to Annex the West Bank.” The participants then went on to attend the three workshops in parallel, and the attendees were divided into groups to attend each workshop.

The first workshop: The role of drama and cinema in serving the Palestinian cause and confronting the normalization of Israeli relations (ideas and proposals(

Second workshop: The role of women in relief and humanitarian work for the Palestinian cause

Third workshop: The role of women in relief and humanitarian work for the Palestinian cause

The conference organized a segment titled “Palestine Theater,” which included many purposeful artistic and singing segments

The WGCQP concluded its conference with the electronic “Pioneers of The Holy City” (Palestine My Compass)
