The Women's Conference in Asia-Pacific
Dr. Omaima Al-Tijani, President of the Women's Global Coalition for Quds and Palestine, Prof. Rabab Awad, the Secretary- General of the WGCQP, and Prof. Noor Jannah, President of the Asia Pacific Women's Coalition, participated at the first Asia Pacific Women's Conference February 10-12 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The conference aimed to mobilize the efforts of women in the Asia-Pacific region to work for the Palestinian cause and to employ these roles to support women and support their steadfastness in Palestine and at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The conference comprised many events, including a speech by Dr. Al-Tijani during the welcoming dinner for the guests, a charity dinner during which Dr. Al-Tijani, Prof. Awad and Dr. Mounir Saeed, Secretary-General of the Global Coalition for Quds and Palestine, met with Her Highness Princess Noor Hayati bint Abdul Rahman Al-Haj, Vice President of the Malaysian Islamic Welfare Organization (PERKIM)
On the sidelines of the conference, a special meeting was held between Dr. Al-Tijani, Prof. Awad, and Dr. Fawzia Hassan, Chairman of the Malaysian Women’s Coalition, with Prof. Fawzia Salleh, Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living to discuss the WGCQP and its work in Malaysia.
