Meghreb Forum

The Global Women's Coalition for Quds and Palestine, under the auspices of the Al Baraka Association for Charitable and Humanitarian Work, held the administrative forum for women leaders for Maghreb work to support Al-Quds and Palestine. It was held from January 27 to 29, 2023, corresponding to Rajab 7, 1444, and under the slogan: Women are Partners in Liberation. It was attended by Maghrebi women leaders working to support the cause.

 

The official opening was held by Al Baraka Association, the official sponsor of the forum. The attendees included various media outlets as well as men and women figures representing political parties, Algerian civil society organizations, and national figures. During the forum, they praised the need to intensify efforts to support Al-Quds and Palestine in the face of the tense and escalating situation in the occupied territories.

 

On the first day, the work included presenting and defining the founding guide for the GWCQP. On the second day, the literary report of the last founding period of the Maghrebi Women’s Coalition was presented, along with the internal regulations of the Women’s Coalition.

 

On the third and final day, the projects of the GWCQP and their implementation mechanisms were presented, along with the reports of the Maghreb countries, an evaluation of the work therein, and an evaluation of the path.

 

At the end of the administrative forum, the following was agreed upon:

 

    1. Consensus among the sisters in Algeria to launch the Algerian branch of the Qatari Women’s Coalition.
    2. The State of Algeria was approved to lead the Maghrebi Women’s Coalition for Quds and Palestine
    3. A unanimous agreement on having Dr. Aisha Belhjar become the head of the Qatari women's work in Algeria.
    4. Dr. Aisha Belhjar was declared the Secretary-General of the Maghrebi Women’s Coalition for Quds and Palestine.
