Coalition Concludes Workshop Held in Nouakchott City

 

The Global Women's Coalition for Quds and Palestine concluded its workshop that was held on February 1-2, 2020 in the city of Nouakchott, Mauritania, and titled “Prospects for Women Working for Palestine in Africa”

 

On February 1-2, 2020, The GWCQP held a two-day workshop in the city of Nouakchott, Mauritania. Eight countries participated and were represented by 13 people, who gathered to discuss ways for establishing and developing women’s pro-Palestinian work in Africa. The workshop was moderated by Ms. Salwa Bijawi, member of the General Secretariat of the Women's Coalition.

 

During these two days, the status of women’s pro-Palestinian work in Africa was discussed and presented by all participating countries. Professor Fathi Abdul-Qader, President of the Global Pioneers Association, spoke about the vision of the Global Coalition to expand such work in Africa. He also touched on the necessity and importance of establishing women’s pro-Palestinian and pro-Quds work in Africa.

 

Through the workshop’s happenings, the participants reached several main outcomes and contents, the most important of which are:

 

    1. Establishing a women’s regional council in Africa to manage emerging regional coalitions.
    2. Establishing the Regional Women’s Coalition in North Africa.
    3. Establishing the Regional Women’s Coalition in West Africa.
    4.  Making way for pro-Palestinian work in East Africa.
    5. Forming Qatari women’s coalitions:

 

  • A Qatari coalition in Senegal.
  • Establishing the Qatari Women’s Coalition in Mauritania.

 

    1. Coordination for women’s pro-Palestinian work in Algeria was approved by those who have attended (under consultation).
    2. Expanding the base of the African Women’s Coalition.
    3. Opening up to women are well-known for their energies and competence and influential in their countries.
    4. Forming and training women cadres working for the Palestinian cause.

 

10. Spreading in Africa through associations and legal institutions.

 

In conclusion, we, the Global Women’s Coalition for Quds and Palestine, extend our sincere thanks to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this workshop, so that it yields effective and constructive results for the pro-Palestinian and pro-Quds work in Africa.
