GWCQP Delegation Visits Indonesia

On January 20, 2024, a delegation from the Women’s Global Coalition for Quds and Palestine visited Indonesia. It consisted of Dr. Sajida Abu Fares, Vice-President of WGCQP and President of the Global Coalition of Muslim Women Scholars and Preachers (GCMWSPQP), Ms. Rabab Awad, Secretary-General of the WGCQP, and Ms. Badriya Al-Silawi, Coalition Coordinator in the Asia-Pacific Region.

This comes within the framework of networking and communication with charitable organizations and activists, in addition to women’s organizations in various parts of the country. They were accompanied on this tour by a delegation of active women in Indonesia, headed by the Indonesian representative of the Asia-Pacific Women’s Alliance for Quds and Palestine, Ms. Nour Jannah, and Ms. Maryam Rashmayani and Ms. Hasna Obaidullah.

On its first day, the visit included a meeting with many pro-Palestinian Indonesian activists, where the party discussed the latest developments on the Palestinian scene.

Among the delegation’s activities on the second day was the presence of Dr. Sajida and her accompanying delegation, the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, where Ms. Rabab of the Family Pledge Project was among the attendees from Indonesian women's organizations. She also gave a lecture on the role of Indonesian women in supporting the freedom of Palestine as well as a lecture on the struggles of women and children in Gaza.

In the same context, Dr. Sajida and Ms. Rabab met with the heads of women’s organizations that are members of the Indonesian Women’s Alliance for Quds and Palestine. Both of them delivered instructions to activists and members of the Coalition.

Within the framework of mobilizing the masses to support the Palestinian cause, aid the Palestinians in Gaza and support them in the ongoing Al-Aqsa Flood battle, Dr. Sajida, Ms. Rabab, and Ms. Badriya met with the heads of women's organizations that are members of the Indonesian Women's Alliance for Quds and Palestine.

It should be noted that this visit comes within the framework of the ongoing visits and activities carried out by the WGCQP to support the Palestinian cause and empower Palestinian women.
