WGCQP Participates in the "Maqdisi Women of Chinguetti" Evening in Support of Al-Aqsa

On Sunday evening, the Women’s Global Coalition for Quds and Palestine participated in an evening organized by the Maqdisi Women of Chinguetti, with the theme: "Maqdis Women of Chinguetti for Al-Aqsa", in support of the Palestinian cause and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The WGCQP was represented by a delegation headed by the Secretary-General, Ms. Rabab Awad, her deputy, Asma Al-Ahmad, as well as the sole survivor of the Abu Shaaban family massacre, Shaimaa Abu Shaaban, and the liberated prisoner, Samar Sabih, both of whom who gave vivid testimonies on the suffering of Palestinian women under the occupation.

The evening saw a wide presence of media figures and representatives of civil society in Mauritania, most notably the Secretary-General of the Mauritanian Women Journalists' Network, Zainab Ajid, the Mauritanian Press Captain, Ahmed Talib Ould Elmi, and the President of the Mauritanian Journalists Association, Musa Bahli.

In her address during the evening, Ms. Rabab Awad stressed the importance of women's role in promoting the cause of Al-Quds and the Palestine, noting that Palestinian women were on the front lines of defending the rights of their people and striking resilient epics that inspired the world. It also called for the consolidation of international efforts to support the Palestinians' resilience to the occupation and to promote the presence of the Palestinian cause in regional and international forums.

This participation is part of the WGCQP’s efforts to promote international women's solidarity with Palestinian and Maqdisi women and to highlight their daily suffering under the occupation, while emphasizing the need to strengthen their resilience by all possible means.
